Soho Hustle is a fast-paced romp through the phenomenon that was the multi-faceted Soho of the 80s, where drag queens brushed shoulders with affluent theatre-goers and wide-eyed tourists. The author creates a level of authenticity by creating characters based on real personalities of the time. Our hero, Cyril Gold is 'a distant cousin' of Brian Epstein and his uncle is clearly based on Lord Lew Grade. For anyone who was there, it is a vivid 'aid de memoire' of ground-breaking shifts in the culture of London, interwoven into an exciting yarn. Hard to put down, once you've read the first page.

It's hard to find words to explain it, but Soho Hustle feels realistic, yet dreamy and glamorous. It's a very gripping story, and for me, the relationships are what keep me most invested. There's a lot of love in this story, whether that's coming from family, friends or love interests, so there's something for everyone. All in all, it's book about the hustle; full of dreams, jealousy and the beauty of Soho. Great read, and I look forward to whatever's next!

Greatly enjoyed reading this book, it created a great atmosphere of London in the 80s a vibe was unfamiliar with. The music, the dress code and the culture were all presented such an interesting way it left me wanting more. However it also contained a very deep and meaningful message that was touched upon throughout which I will leave for future readers to enjoy finding out. Thank you Gordon for the enjoyable read and to all future readers please give it a shot!
